Winner of the Contemporary Art Prize Campos Clinicae - III edition
I am proud to present to all of you my project « I shall inhabit my name / J'habiterai mon nom », which has won the Contemporary Art Prize Campos Clinicae 2015. It refers to the poem Exil by Saint John Perse and questions this vast and complexe notion through a sound & sculpture installation. It will take the form of a narrow path partially rolled up as a thin torn skin on the surface of the landscape, a space of rupture of the continuity, a dotted path. It evokes the belonging to a place and the uprooting, through which the hope for a better future develops on a new favorable terrain. This inedit project is going to be part of Campos Clinicae private collection.

« Jeanne's awarded project was in competition this year with other proposals of great interest and quality. Choosing among them was not easy, although the ideas and previous artworks of Jeanne de Petriconi have certainly passionated the entire jury. Her project has a great communicative power; it conveys a critical view of the reality in which we live, and uses materials of a powerful relevance these days. The artist reminds us in a critical way one of the issues that concern us more and which has been a constant in the history of mankind: emigration. The vision she offers to us through a path made of little used materials, provides the work with a visual and spatial impact. Her idea of laying out the work on the ground, already tested in previous projects, makes it even more stunning and makes it even harder to feel foreign to its proposal. Visual and spatial impact, new materials, critical message, a strange beauty and the clarity of formal codes used are part of a new critical realism that seems to be one of the most interesting trends of the art of this new century. All this appears to us without shrillness or exaggeration, with an impressive simplicity that avoids to look for an easy impact, but based instead on a serene and critical reflection. We hope that the path of Jeanne de Petriconi, Corsican and universal at the same time, continues to develop the interest and artistic qualities presented in this project. »

« El proyecto de Jeanne de Petriconi premiado en el concurso de este año ha competido con otros de gran interés y mucha calidad. Escoger entre ellos no fue fácil, aunque las ideas y obras previas de Petriconi apasionaron al conjunto del jurado. El proyecto de Jeanne posee una gran fuerza comunicativa, se inscribe en una visión crítica de la realidad que vivimos y utiliza medios plásticos de potente actualidad. La artista nos recuerda de manera crítica uno de los problemas que nos acucian y que han sido, al tiempo, una constante en la historia de la humanidad: la emigración. La visión que nos plantea, a través de un camino realizado con materiales poco utilizados carga la obra de impacto visual y espacial. Su idea, ya probada en otros proyectos, de una disposición de la obra sobre el suelo, la hace todavía más impactante, haciendo muy difícil mostrarse ajeno a su contenido. Impacto visual y espacial, nuevos medios materiales, mensaje crítico, belleza extraña y la claridad de los códigos formales empleados se inscribe en un nuevo realismo crítico que parece ser una de las tendencias más interesantes del arte del presente siglo. Y todo esto se nos aparece sin estridencias ni histrionismos, con una sencillez impactante que no se deja arrastrar por la búsqueda del impacto fácil, sino apoyada en la reflexión serena y crítica. Esperamos que la trayectoria pasada de Jeanne de Periconi, corsa y universal al tiempo, mantenga el interés y la calidad artística mostrada en este proyecto. »

« Le projet de Jeanne primé dans le concours de cette année était en compétition avec d'autres projets de grand intérêt et de qualité. Choisir parmi eux n'a pas été facile, bien que les idées et œuvres antérieures de Jeanne de Petriconi aient passionné l'ensemble du jury. Le projet de Jeanne possède une grande force communicative, il s'inscrit dans une vision critique de la réalité dans laquelle nous vivons et utilise des matériaux d'une puissante actualité. L'artiste nous rappelle de manière critique l'un des problèmes qui nous préoccupe et qui a été, de tout temps, une constante dans l'histoire de l'humanité : l'émigration. La vision qu'elle nous propose au travers d'un chemin réalisé de matériaux peu utilisés, charge l'oeuvre d'un impact visuel et spatial.Son idée de la disposition de l'oeuvre à même le sol déjà mise en pratique dans d'autres projets, la rend encore plus impactante et rend plus difficile encore de se montrer étranger à son contenu. Impact visuel et spatial, nouveaux moyens matériels, message critique, étrange beauté et la clarté des codes formels employés s'inscrivent dans un nouveau réalisme critique qui semble être l'une des tendances les plus intéressantes de l'art du siècle actuel. Tout cela nous apparaît sans stridence ni exagération, avec une simplicité saisissante qui ne se laisse pas entraîner par la recherche de l'impact facile, sinon appuyé sur une réflexion sereine et critique. Nous espérons que la trajectoire de Jeanne de Petriconi, corse et universelle à la fois, maintienne l'intérêt et la qualité artistique présentée dans ce projet. »
