Shoes with worn out soles which have left unique traces in the places that they have walked.
The multiple and various layers that are visible under the shoes reveal the character of the landscape in which they have passed.
This sculpture represents my father’s walk on the Corsican earth.
Here the traces the shoes have left represent a journey through Corsica and the layers indicate a series of “shoe-prints” that have been left by the wanderer.
Those evoke memories, revealing what has disappeared and what is invisible and are for myself a way of talking about a place and a person. |
