LANDSCAPE

(2009)

9 modules of polystyrene, cut with a hot wire foam cutter
(480 x 50 x 15 cm)

One word, which is contained in the other escapes gradually and literally from it. The inclination of the letters enables the viewer to see a word distorted. The three first letters remain steady and the following letters are radically lifted from the ground but still underlined by their shadow. The shadow highlights and emphasizes the feeling of speed and lightness. The latter words seem to loose their thickness and give an illusion to be thinner than they really are. It evokes a landscape seen from a moving train or racing motorbikes.
