COLLECTION 3: DUST DRAWINGS

(Dessins poussière, 2010)

Séries of 50 drawings
pencil on paper
(24 x 32 cm each)
(extract)

I gather up pieces of a past life in an old barn. I want to talk about the end of things, which have been used by the time passing.

I focus on the ordinary and as well stress out details that the eye would not see if it did not spend time with it.
By zooming, and using a pointillist technic the objects becomes  abstract because of their texture, which brings them about new characteristics.
Then, strong materials becomes weak.
As a detective would have done I collect obsessively all the elements and traces I find, until a total exhaustion of the place, of the pencils I use, and, of my body at work.
It is about capturing what is about to disappear, the state of objects covered of dust, and finally constitued of dust.
